Iceland from the Passenger Seat

We are back from Fanfest a day later than planned, our Icelandair flight into Boston arrived late and we missed our connection. But we are finally home. I'm sure I will have more to say about Fanfest in the coming days and weeks, as well as have more photos to share with you. I believe we took well over a thousand photos between us. So that is going to take some time to sort.

In the meantime I cobbled together a side project of mine. We rented our own car this trip and went on a couple of tours with a good friend of ours that runs Moonwalker Tours. We became friends with Bessi Jonsson back in 2015 during our last Fanfest trip. During all of our adventures from the furthest West and almost the furthest East in Iceland I shot a ton of footage out the window of our car and his amazing Land Rover Defender Moon1.

So yesterday I took some time and edited some of it together in this meditative and incredible look at the vast landscapes of Iceland. It is certainly more for us to remember our adventures, but I thought I'd share it with you.

More to come, but in the meantime, enjoy this short film.

Iceland is an incredible place.

Very nice! Well done!
But two little things.
First you scared my wife for good and she said she will never go there.
The other is that I'm a little disappointed with you, as you didn't take a dive at the beaches. :-P

Nice, Rixx. Really does look like a different world in places. I also noticed that roads are somewhat optional!

Sorry I scared your wife. She shouldn't be, Iceland is a very beautiful place. With volcanoes and earthquakes and hot water shooting out of the ground, and very little life anywhere... y'know.

Yes, outside of Reykjavik you usually have only one main road that is paved (usually) and most of the side roads are not. Sometimes they are little more that paths.

Beautiful! Makes me sad how much we missed staying in Reykjavik. However...Mrs. Random is already talking herself into reasons to go back. She suggested we retire there and run a food trailer/truck.

I think I have her hooked. ;)

lolz, that's awesome. That is one huge reason why we went back a second time, just so we could see more of the country.

This captivating blog post filled me with both awe and an irresistible sense of wanderlust! Seeing the incredible beauty of Iceland through the passenger seat felt like a cool breeze from the car cooling system, chilling and refreshing at the same time. The landscapes pictured here aren't just geographical locations; they are poetry that the earth has penned in craggy cliffs, waterfalls, and an endless sky. It is truly amazing how the magic of this place has been captured through the lens and shared for all of us to experience. I couldn't help but feel an immense respect for nature's raw power, and a tinge of humbling insignificance in the grand scale of things. This is a ride I'm going to remember for a long time. Thanks for the journey!
