Presenting one of my all time favorite ships, Serenity, from Firefly and the movie of the same name. I really like the way this turned out and I'm glad to finally get it out in public. The drawing of the ship is almost a year old, I had drawn it back when I was trying to figure out the technique on the Eve Poster Series and it had just lingered in a folder waiting. So this weekend I finished the drawing and started thinking about what to do with it.

Luckily I had just gotten my new Wacom tablet last week and so I decided to take it for a spin and do a complete painting. You can see the results for yourself and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did working on it.

While Eve may always be an important part of my work, it certainly won't be the only part of my work. I need to expand my horizons and I'll be doing more and more other genre work in the coming months. In fact I have a couple other projects cooking in the oven already.

Let me know what you think. And any suggestions for future works you'd like to see.

Enjoy.

It looks great! A few I would like to see your touch:

Jupiter II from the original Lost in Space series
Galactica from the original series
Babylon 5 station from the same name series
Her Majesty’s light cruiser Fearless - from the Honor Harrington book series by David Weber (my preferred scifi book series)

I want to create a line based round famous ships from science-fiction books, ships of the imagination. I think that would be so much fun. And maybe allow for even more creativity since we don't really know what they look like exactly.
Might be interesting to do mashups - EVE ships along side those from other Science Fiction sources? Serenity vs Moa! Millenium Falcon in a fight with Tristans. etc etc

Sci-fi book wise - How about the Affront ships from Excession by Iain M Banks?

Very very nice, Rixx. Serenity was so well done for a cargo ship. However, I have to agree with Krull in saying I would love to see the Javix™ Galactica.

I LOVE that! Remember that old series Space Above and Beyond? Maybe one of the fighters from that.

Mynxee, I knew I forgot something. And there is also another from the 1970 British series UFO - ENA Interceptor - http://ufoseries.com/models/studio2interceptorSide.jpg
