The Empyrean Chronicles

Cover Mock-Up, thanks to Gabriel Cassata for permission to use his amazing illustration

The Empyrean Chronicles is an anthology of fan fiction and fan art set in the living science-fiction universe of Eve Online. Submissions are OPEN until December 12th, 2015. The first book will be published during the first quarter of 2016, and exact date will be announced in early 2016. Initially our plan is to provided a downloadable print-quality PDF for FREE to anyone that wants one.

We've already received an avalanche of submissions from the earlier call. And thanks to EN24 for spreading the word as well. Please feel free to spread the word far and wide for us, the more the merrier.

And, remember, if you miss the Dec 12th deadline don't worry. We will be publishing additional volumes in the future. Any submissions that do not make it into Volume 1 will be considered for future volumes. Our intention is to be all-inclusive.

All submissions should be made to rixxjavix@gmail.com. Artists should also contact me there to discuss participation. There are no rules other than all entries must be self-contained stories. We have no idea right now when volume 2 will appear, let's that this one step at a time ok? Works can be original or previously published, it is totally up to you.

Our Editors will be working with me to ensure professional standards are followed and the entire book will be designed and edited by your friendly neighborhood blogger.

I'm very excited about this project and look forward to reading your stories.

Someone unironically posted a Grrr Rixx comment on reddit complaining about RMT when I linked the earlier post:

Jaw hit floor.

This is Amazing Rixx I love your work within the EVE community! Will it be an online book or will a hard copy be available for purchase?

For Free?
There must be some trick, since we know from reputable sources that a book costs $150000. I sense some dark conspiracy here!

First: I love the idea and can't wait to browse through the book.

Second: I don't want to be a buzzkiller but did you ask CCP if they are OK with the project. I know it is for free and a community project but it wouldn't hurt to ask them beforehand.

hehehe that's amazing

I wish the Rixxtani all the best this looks like an amazing project and if they publish with a donate button I'll throw them a few bucks.

Community based stuff in Eve is always amazing.

Yes indeed, Rixx is up to something. No Kickstarter to fund this operation - the community is helping him do it for free? He's got to be up to something. I think Rixx has a long range plan to take over the Eve Universe but not to destroy the game only destroy our game! Grrr Rixx.:-)

It will be available as a downloadable PDF in both screen and print quality versions initially. I say initially only to allow for potential future developments that may or may not occur depending on community demand.

I do have a plan. It is essentially the same one I've always had, to provide awesome and fun projects to the community some of which involve CCP and some of which do not.

I've done this before. A few years back I made an Art book and gave it away for free. Sometimes CCP needs to be shown things before they react to them. It is a simple case of lead or get out of the way.

I was going to joke on the "Grr Rixxtani" but can't.

I'm terrible writing so can't contribute.

Looking forward to see the results. I expect the best out of it. Way to go Rixx.

Given the PR nightmare CCP created by giving the rights away to the failed lawyer's crew, I cannot fathom how they would in any way try to hold up this project. It would be suicide on their part.

I regret to inform R. Javix my lawyers will start legal proceeding soon as the cover image originates from the night Deltron Zi and I ended up wrestling a la mode in front of a roaring fire. Not to sure how this image ended up in your collection, but if you could refrain from publishing any of the more of these compromising images.

You may not remember it now, in the haze of your inebriation, but you did sign a release. Its in my safe I assure you.
