The 11th Annual Frigate Free For All

For the 11th year in a row, Stay Frosty and A Band Apart will be hosting our annual Frigate Free For All - this time in a new location - Amamake! That's right, we'll be traveling this year to bring the largest player hosted event in all of New Eden to new shores, new players, and a new location. This will mark my 15th annual event that started way back in 2010 with the first DeathRace through Providence. I ended up hosting three DeathRace events and several FFAs while in other organizations - so that is why this is the 11th annual version under the SF/ABA banner. As always we will have thousands of FREE Frigates and Destroyers to hand out during the event - as well as lots of very special ships undocking during the six hours. Who knows what else might happen? Wild Banshee Indians

Whenever my brother and I would run around like crazy people, our Mother would say, "You two are like a pack of wild banshee Indians." The Internets say, "A banshee Indian is an Indian mythical female spirit whose wailing or appearance warns a family that one of them will soon die. Before a death occurs, the Indian banshee will go wailing and clapping hands: if the death is of a holy person, a whole chorus of banshees will wail." When you are a kid these sounds are normal, but when you grow up and have children of your own - well then you know exactly what kind of Hell your own parents lived through. Frigate Free For All

The 11th Annual A Band Apart Frigate Free for All will be held on Saturday, March 29th in Amamake! So plan on attending, participating, and having the absolute best time you can have in Eve Online. Young players, veterans, and players who have never, ever shot anyone before are all welcome. We'll have over 10,000 FREE Frigates (and some Dessies!) to hand out in local for everyone. You can re-ship as often as you like. For SIX HOURS! Bring your friends, your corp mates, or just bring yourself. There will be streamers streaming and maybe even some famous CCP Devs on hand to shoot at in local. You never know what might happen during this event each year. It is the largest player-run event in Eve Online and every year we break records. So be sure to spread the word and let's see how many people we can cram into Amamake. Ok, so Rixx - what is the FF4A? Eve Is Love

If you follow the Eve discourse on Reddit, X, Discord, or anywhere else that players and former players gather you'd think that everyone hates this game. It has been a gathering storm since the very, very beginning. But the vast majority of players do not actually hate Eve Online. In fact, we love this dumb game. We talk about it endlessly, travel to Iceland to talk about it endlessly together, set-up player meets around the world, share art, stories, blog posts, streams, and videos about it. Is it perfect? Never. Nope. It isn't. And it never will be. It hasn't been perfect for the past 22 years and it won't be anytime soon. Is it frustrating? Often yes. Is it annoying? Of course. But, and here is the truth, we love it because of those flaws as much as we love it when it works. And, it mostly works. Most of the time. Solo PvP Ships Ranked

So where is the Tristan? I limited each tier to only six ships - which means there are plenty of good ships, like the Tristan, that did not make the cut. In the current meta the Tristan has lost some of its historic luster. Sadly, but it is the truth. It is increasingly difficult for any T1 Frigate to not only find solo content, but survive it once it has been found. That is just the reality of Eve today. So what I tried to do was create five tiers and rank the six best ships at each of those parameters. All-Around ships, like the Comet, perform under a very, very wide window of engagement. As do the other ships on the list. Those engagement windows are different for each one of these ships, but they are all very wide. And the Hecate makes it because it also can probe. Situational Best are ships that I feel are the best at more specific goals than the all-around ships. The windows are smaller, but still impressive.
