Today my good friend Saint Michael's Soul scored the historic 100,000th Solo Kill for Stay Frosty. He did it in classic 1v1 nature with a victory in a Comet versus Comet fight with TomHorn in Hysera. The victory came after a murderous run when pilots started logging in as the numbers kept getting closer and closer to the magic line. I can't begin to tell you how worried I was that the 100k kill would be some kind of garbage cyno score or a rookie ship afk on a gate. Whew.
This accomplishment is just another accumulation of numbers, numbers that represent over twelve years of combined activity from thousands of players that have contributed to Stay Frosty's success. And today, in addition to this single kill, I'd also like to toast each of those players who contributed over the years. Those that went on to forge their own stories, those who no longer play the game, and those who remain with our little group of troublemakers. Thank you. We couldn't have done this without you.
I also want to mention that after Saint scored that victory against the Comet, he went on to solo a Caracal and a Caracal Navy Issue who were together!! Like a boss.
Every single morning when I sit down at my computer the very first thing I do is scroll through the kills and losses from our corporation's previous day and night. I like to keep up with how everyone is doing, if someone had a devastating loss, or an amazing victory. What systems are active. How are we doing, does anyone need some help, advice, or a little nudge to keep getting better. I worry over my little group of evil doers and I'm proud of both their wins and their losses - because each engagement is important. Not just the wins, but the moments they tried something. It doesn't always work. But the act of undocking and risking everything in a fight is something to be celebrated. Risk equals reward.
It took us over twelve years to reach this milestone. I think we can do better. Let's see how long it takes to crack 200,000!!
Onward and Upward.
