Fighting Apathy

Over the last month or so I've purposefully stepped back a little from the Eve Community and slowed down on posting everywhere. No real reason other than the usual year-end crush of commitments and projects that need to be dealt with. I haven't stopped logging into the game or anything, but posting on Twitter, and writing here in these pages... well, everyone needs a break. Even me.

A huge part of that has been, frankly, the delivery of the board game and the last remnants remaining from Fanfest. That was a massive project that took a huge amount of my time and effort over almost three years of my life. And then the rush towards Fanfest and the presentation, the fans, the anticipation, and the support needed to get it across the finish line. After something like that, it is natural to feel a sense of loss and be deflated. At least a little bit. Add that into the usual holiday blahs this time of year and boom, just an overall blah feeling.

Like I said, I still log in as much as always. But my Saturday fleets have been on pause for the holidays and that is something I really look forward to each week. Those will be starting up again. For the sake of OpSec I won't tell you when.

In other news I'm going to be putting more effort into recruiting this year for Stay Frosty. In May we'll be celebrating our 13th year and our active member numbers have been steadily dropping over the last part of 2025 - so we need to correct that. So if you've ever wanted to YARR and test your PvP mettle with a group of Pirates - drop me a line in-game, or just throw in an application.

I'm also open to the idea of accepting new corporations into the alliance. We've kept our doors shut for the past three years or so, but it might be time to think about some new blood there as well. If you have enough active members, we're not accepting one or two man corps (it never works out) then think about joining A Band Apart.

I also owe the community an answer on when the spring FF4A will be happening, but right now I can't answer that... not yet. Soon I hope.

And I have some other surprises in store for the new year, but you'll just have to be patient.

More soon.
