Good fights are awesome, but great fights are even better. Now, to be clear, I'm talking about things from my personal perspective. I can't guarantee that the person on the other side of these encounters feels the same way about them, but for me they are a lot of fun. Here are a few short after battle reports on some recent cool fights I've found myself involved in.
This one will be a short on my YouTube channel tomorrow. But essentially this one happened by a combination of accidental timing and fearsome patience. My corp mate Seeker found the Caracal plexing and I wandered over in my Tholos to help. But the Caracal wasn't having it and warped off to a safe spot between the plex and sun. Seeker had to go afk to grab some food, so I just warped back to the plex and cloaked up to wait. Less than a minute later the Caracal landed on the plex and started to slide. Well, being the nefarious pirate that I am - I had to follow him in. Shortly after tackling him my computer/server/internet connection went bonkers on me, with several mods in overheat. Luckily things went back to normal rather quickly, but by then I had lost my point and my AB. It made for a nervous few seconds, but in the end, it didn't change the outcome.
This one is more about the story than the kill itself. But we were out on a roam and taking a short break in system, so most of us were in station getting reps when we spotted the Omen. Luckily for us, Darkon was around in his Garmur and bravely went in to get tackle. I had also sent Phoenix in behind him as back up. And the rest of us followed in for finishing things off. It's not the greatest story to write about, but in the moment it was pretty awesome how everything just worked out perfectly. Sometimes it is a wonder when it happens.
We had previously removed this gentleman from his Typhoon a few days before this (see the image above), so when I spotted him in system again I sprang into action. I was the only one round so I grabbed my Cenotaph and started hunting. This involved a lot of back and forth between systems, over and over again. This Phoon pilot was extremely nervous while he was looking for whatever it was he was looking for. Eventually a few other SF pilots joined me and we finally managed to catch him on a gate. As I've said many, many times before - being predictable is a sure way to get yourself exploded.
It isn't often you see a Battleship ratting in a belt around our neighborhood and when we do, we tend to pull out all the stops to secure the victory. I keep a few Baby Bhalgorns around for situations like this. If you don't know, a Baby Bhal is just a regular Geddon fitted out like you might fit out a real Bhalgorn. But they are obviously cheaper and less attention-seeking. This one was fitted with Rapid Heavies. And it is rather mean. We thought that perhaps the Apoc, being so obviously a bad idea, might be bait for a hotdrop. We had a situation a few weeks ago with a Raven that was bait, so we were a tad nervous. Hence the over-reaction. We needed to kill him quickly and get out.
Again, worked perfectly. And you can watch it yourself here in this short.
More fun kills happen all the time and I'm trying to capture more and more of them on video to share with you all. Be sure to Like a & Subscribe to my YouTube channel so you don't miss any of them.
Cheers,
