I've produced 51 videos and 97 video shorts so far this year. I decided to focus on growing my YouTube channel and it has been all-in to try and do that this year. I've been trying a lot of new things and expanding on other avenues, like starting the new podcast with my friend CrazyKinux. I've been pushing myself in new directions and sharing more openly than ever before with the Pirates Corner feature every two weeks. And producing a lot of content based around a combination of Just rewards and personal projects. I've also been exploring my musical side and releasing new original songs along the way. I even designed a new spaceship and recorded myself doing it. I've been pouring my heart and soul into it and, to be honest, I've been having a blast doing it.
All I can do is keep producing the kind of material that I enjoy creating. Like this recent Mindflood infomercial -
I have no idea why something like this gets 111 views and another video gets 79,000 views. The algo part of the process is vague and constantly changing, I've watched enough stupid videos to know no one else really understands it either. You'd be shocked at how varied and inconsistent the so-called "advice" out there is. The good news is I don't really care, because all I can do is create content that I enjoy creating. Pushing myself in new directions and having fun while doing it. So I'll just keep doing that.
I'll never be one of those people that can make a living on YouTube and I'm not really trying to do that. I'd be happy if YouTube was just a small part of a much wider spectrum of income going forward. And that I think can be something I can achieve. And I sincerely appreciate everyone that likes and subscribes to help support my efforts. And those that truly enjoy and appreciate at least some of what I am creating. You certainly don't have to like everything, but I hope there is enough to keep you entertained.
All we can do is keep moving forward.
