Steampunk Marshall Updates

I couldn't resist. I finished up another illustration last night and decided to take a few more moments and re-visit the Steampunk Marshall. I added more rivets, took off the annoying front two portals (I couldn't decided what to do with them), added the DED logo, and added some much needed (and super subtle) highlights to the windows. Along with a bunch of other minor updates no one but me would notice.

There are still a dozen things that bother me, but I'm going to probably stop here. I've had this idea in my head for almost twenty years, not specifically the Marshall, but the concept of turning Eve spaceships into other genres. Steampunk is just one of many possibilities. Like so many things in life, there is much more going on here.

As you all know I spent almost three years working on the Eve board game and I'm hard at work on the follow up Eve Squadron dice game. In-between all of that effort I also added a lot of posters to my Etsy store and kept up the usual pace with other projects - like Alliance logos, etc. After the board game was finished and I gave my presentation last year at Fanfest, I was kind burned out. Toasted like a Armor Repper in a 1v1. It wasn't just Eve Online, real life at that time was also doing its best to kick my ass. And not to belabor the point, but it was doing a pretty good job of it.

But art has always saved me from depression. And it was no different this time. The focus on video gave me something new to chew on, while I quietly started getting my skills back up to where they had been - and beyond. And life is also, not surprisingly, been getting much, much better. I'm actually in a pretty awesome place right now. And that also affects the art. Funny how it all works.

Anyway, how about that Steampunk Marshall? lol

My brain is telling me I should think about a fleet combat illustration poster of steam-punked  Eve spaceships fighting...
