Every new ship in Eve Online gets taken to the shop, fits worked out, and then the testing. I like to test my fits in various ways before I really start to commit any ship to actual combat. Sometimes that involves working things out with my corpmates, or taking less dangerous opportunities, but it can sometimes take a few weeks before I'm comfortable with everything. Of course I'm also not a normal player and me showing up around town in a shiny new ship is just asking for trouble. I've yet to engage anyone in my Odysseus for example.
But the Akoman is an interesting ship and much more obviously combat ready than that SoE exploration thing. So for the past few days I've been rolling around the fit and undocking her to test her capabilities with fellow Stay Frostians. And she shows a lot of promise. Certainly from range a formidable BC with obvious weaknesses that could cause issues. But she isn't a solo ship, few BCs are tbh, and she would need support for anything but extreme edge cases. Or she could be pretty effective as a station or gate camper in numbers potentially. Again, range being the thing here. With a long point and double webs reaching out to 30k cold-range - she shoots far and hard - when she lands a hit. Tracking is not great obviously and she has no drones.
Anyway, I don't normally share these behind-the-scenes looks, but I thought the Akoman was worthy of a peek. I hope you enjoy and I look forward to seeing your Akoman in space. Alone if possible :)
Fly safe out there.
