Yesterday we decided to go on a casual run around the neighborhood and formed up a kitchen sink of Frigates. After about 90 minutes we started heading back to our home system. Shortly we noticed an Avalanche on scan and a few of our pilots went over to investigate. Suddenly the pilot apparently disconnected and his ship warped off to a random location.
As you know, you only have a minute before that ship becomes impossible to detect - but our scout managed to probe it down and get tackle with only seconds to spare. We were only in Frigates, but we still managed to hold the ship and slowly bring it down. One of out pilots headed back to grab a Deimos, but he barely returned in time before the mighty ship exploded.
I switched to one of my alts and brought a freighter over to deal with the cargo from the wreck and in only two trips managed to secure it in a station. We negotiated with the pilot and sold his cargo back at a decent price and profit for us. (2.5 billion isk)
Which, for those naysayers out there, sounds like something Pirates would do.
