In this week's Pirates Corner I spend some time talking in detail about content creation. This week's subject is the result of a reward over on Just and not a response to recent events. In fact, I go out of my way to avoid discussing those recent events in any detail. I'm keenly aware of not coming across as some kind of weirdo looking for an award I thought I should win. (Like a certain President) That is not the case. Often in these pages I am challenged to write about a topic in response to community motion and not doing so, choosing not to respond, would not be a service to anyone. I had my say and now it is time to move on.
I've always been somewhat uncomfortable with the label "content creator" anyway. Certainly within the confines of New Eden that moniker might be a more truthful reflection of what I do inside the game. But outside the confines of the actual game, out here in the larger community, I think my role is more creative than that label often denotes. I tend to approach my creations from a unique perspective and try to fill voids that I see as important. I often facilitate larger discussions and help my fellow players to navigate the Eve Partnership program, or figure out how to approach CCP with creative projects. I continue to create Alliance Logos for players that ask for my help, as I have done for over 1,200 Alliances so far. I just finished another one of those today. The list is long and on-going.
But it also fair to just lump me in with everyone under that content creation designation. Whatever works for you. I do create a lot of content. And I will keep doing that as long as I can. So in this week's video I cover my own personal history of creativity and how it got started with Eve Online. I also share some older examples for those of you that might have missed them in the past. So I hope you enjoy this week's video and I look forward to doing it again next week.
