My YouTube Channel

Since January of this year over 1,200 people have discovered and subscribed to my Eve Online focused YouTube channel. That same month is when I made the decision to focus on creating more content than ever before and primarily deliver that content across YouTube. Thank you to all those that liked & subscribed since then, I sincerely appreciate the support. And I welcome new subscribers every day. And hope that if you are reading these words that you will support my channel as well.

I've been creating Eve videos for a very long time. My very first Eve Online video was posted 16 years ago and features a pre-pirate Rixx fighting a 1v1 against fellow blogger and pirate Nashh Kadavr, which I won by the way. It's a horrible video and I hope you do not watch it. Back in those days my channel was primarily used to post advertising videos and commercials that I created professionally. A sort of "portfolio" for clients and prospects. Adding Eve content was just a fun way to express my growing passion for the game. But it was always just a hobby.

I can't believe it took me so long to realize just how much amazing content I was leaving in the dust bin of time. I should have been recording fights from the start. I can only imagine how much of an archive that would be now. But I honestly thought no one would want to see me fighting wars, fighting battles, and all my adventures. Good grief. Luckily I came to my senses and I've been sharing more and more of myself over the past year. And, lo and behold, it seems like people are really enjoying it.

I'm not making videos primarily to be popular. Of course I would like all of my videos to be popular, but that is not why I make them. Frankly, I can't figure out what makes a video "popular" anyway. And I'll give you a great example. I've made two "Definitive" spaceship guides so far, one on the Comet and one of the Hookbill. These are complicated videos to make and take a lot of time and effort to produce. The Comet video has around 4,500 views (which is great!) and the Hookbill video has 72,000 views (whoa!). See what I mean? I have no idea what to make of that. Which is why I do not bother trying. It's a fool's errand that I see so many content creators fall into. So I'll just keep making videos I want to make and hope people enjoy them. I think that's the best way.

And yes, for those of you wondering when the next "Definitive" video will be out, I don't know yet. But I'm pretty sure the next one will be on the Firetail. If things go the way I think they are going.

My channel is all about variety, because I get bored fast. So PvP videos and shorts, documentaries, history, guides, tutorials, The Safe Spot podcast, humor, music, pretty much everything under the sun. Some of it you'll love, some you'll shake your head, and some might not be for you. But I hope you'll give it a chance and subscribe so I can keep making more.

Again, thank you. Onward & Upward.
